HEALTH AND SAFETY POLICY STATEMENT
Company policy
This policy ensures a safe, healthful workplace for all its employees. Injury and illness losses from incidents are costly and preventable. The company employ an effective accident and illness prevention program that involves all its employees in the effort to eliminate workplace hazards.

The company shall take all reasonable measures to ensure the safety, health, and welfare at work to all employees in fulfilment of its moral, legal, and economic responsibilities. These measures aimed to protect others who may be affected by our day-to-day work activities.

Management
Management is accountable for preventing workplace incidents, injuries, and illness. Management provides top- level support of safety program initiatives. Management will consider all employee suggestions for achieving a safer, healthier workplace. BMRL will hold all levels of management accountable for providing a safe work environment and enforcing safe work procedures and practices. Our managers and key personnel are made aware of their responsibilities and required to take all reasonable precautions to ensure their safety, health and welfare of our workforce and anyone else likely to be affected by the operation of our business.

Supervision
Supervisors are responsible for supervising and training workers in safe work practices. They must enforce company safety rules and work to eliminate hazardous conditions and give health and safety the same priority as productivity, environmental issues, or quality control. They must know and comply with applicable occupational health and safety requirements. BMRL complies with the requirements of health and safety legislation.

Subcontractors are advised before placing orders, and suppliers of materials and plant at the time of the order, of the need to comply with the company safety policy. Supervisors are to ensure that all works are carried out safely using approved methods, equipment, and materials.

Health and Safety committee
This committee includes employer, health and safety personnel and employee representatives who are responsible for recommending safety and health improvements in the workplace. The committee is also responsible for identifying risks, hazards and unsafe work practices, removing obstacles to incident prevention, and helping the company evaluate the accident and illness prevention program. They will ensure the health and safety at work of all our people and any other people who may be affected by our work activities.

Employees
All employees are expected and encouraged to participate in safety and health program activities including the following: reporting hazards, unsafe work practices and accidents immediately to their supervisors or a safety committee representative; wearing required personal protective equipment; and participating in and supporting safety committee activities. BMRL believes that every employee is entitled to a safe and healthy work environment, that all injuries are preventable, and that we can achieve zero incidents by delivering excellence continuously improving our safety programs, processes, and culture through collaboration with our employees, subcontractors, and clients.

POLICY:
To provide adequate control of the health and safety risks arising from our work activities

  • To consult with our employees on matters affecting their health and safety
  • To ensure safe handling and use of equipment in the field
  • To provide information instruction and supervision for employees
  • To ensure all employees are competent to do their tasks, and to give them adequate training
  • To prevent accidents and cases of work- related ill health
  • To maintain safety and healthy working conditions
  • To review and revise this policy as necessary at regular intervals.

In addition to placing yourself and others at risk of injury, failure to comply with this policy and accompanying procedures will result in progressive dismissal action for workers and will be evaluated during the performance evaluation process. Failure for supervisors and employees to comply might result in injury to workers or the public and/or personal and corporate criminal charges against the individual members.
